Event 3 Blog - Blake Kirshner

The HOX Zodiac event on June 5th was a very interesting one with lots of insight on the zodiac of the horse. It is amazing to hear people like Linda's stories on how they felt connected to the horse. Linda almost got divinely brought to the front of the stage after buying a last minute ticket to a broadway play and was approached by a horse she felt infatuated by and had an outer body experience. Certain people like Maryam Razi felt this connection to horses so much that festivities and parties are held to honor it. Maryam and her significant other are a tiger and a horse, so they thought they would share a common meal of fish. Below are pictures of this party honoring their zodiac animals. 

The significance of the connection to horses is also their domestication, and how we ourselves long to be free just like the animals. Domesticated animals are fed, dressed, groomed, and in horse's case saddled up. The same is with humans, we are fed, dressed, and are not forced to gather for our food. We are so much closer to these animals than many may think. A good example is the carrot that Victoria Vesna's friend brought up. The carrot is the connection between the horse and the human, as the horse is fed, the connection gets stronger.
